Huston tx Holocaust butterfly project

The Huston Holocaust Museum- Over one and a half million innocent children perished in the Holocaust.
In an effort to remember them, Holocaust Museum Houston is collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies. The butterflies will eventually comprise a breath-taking exhibition, currently scheduled for Spring 2012, for all to remember. Here is their site address:

I am sending several butterflies:

I learnt about this project on swap bot which is promoting a swap to send your butterfly to huston and a note about it to a partner. Here is the card my partner is receiving.

xmas in july atc swap

My first attempt at knitting a mini sock turned out too big, so I sent it as an extra, with a lip balm stuffed inside.

I went a little overboard on this atc- the mantle is contructed of balsa wood and stirring sticks that I glued and stained. The sock is hand knit- 6 stitches done in the round! The fireplace has real soot and real wood logs. This sock is 1/3 of the size of the above sock. This is an abstract - part of a xmas tree.
I made a xmas card to send along with this swap.

bird swap

the theme was a birds for this atc swap, and I made a bird relataed card to go along.

bday in Germany

A person posted a request for bday cards for an elderly lady in germany who has little family, so I sent this.

angel atcs

I volunteered to angel 2 women whose partners never sent their atcs. One liked clocks and ctenophores -jellyfish like critters amd the other liked penguin, sheep and rainbows , here is what I came up with for atcs and cards for them.

handmade cards

Think pink swap

The think pink swap was just compiling a bunch of pink items to send to your partner. I gathered a few store bought things and then made a corner bookmark, a pair of blank flower cards and pink earrings.

Dangle earrings

In this swap you had 2 partners whom you send a pair of earrings to. One partner loves purple- so I made her 2 pair. The other had very few likes and dislikes on her profile, so she got a pair on orange paperclip earrings (aren't they cool paperclips) and left over hardware pieces jewelry.

I also made handmade cards to send along...
